Lift Bridge¶

Lift Bridge works with FieldWorks 7.0.4 (or higher). Use of Lift Bridge with older versions of FieldWorks is not supported.

How do I start Lift Bridge?¶

Select the "Send/Receive (Lift)" menu option on the File menu.

How do I use Lift Bridge?¶

A. The first time Lift Bridge is used for a given language project, the user will need to decide how to work with other team members using a Lift file. A FLEx user can initiate a sharing of data. or work with other team members who are already using a Lift-enabled application, such as WeSay. The following screenshot shows this first time use window with its options. Once this initial step has been completed, the regular Lift Bridge window will be displayed.

If the option to work with another user is selected, an additional dialog window comes up (not shown here) that allows for connecting to the selected source.

C. Lift Bridge in more regular usage, after the initial setup has been done:

In regular usage, Lift Bridge allows for sharing the Lift data, whether via a USB drive, a shared network drive, or the internet. Lift Bridge will: 1) export the current FLEx lexical data, 2) handle merging the exported data with the other team members, and 3) import the data from the other members.
