Description

Currently, it's easy to overlook the fact that one or two fields are set
to the wrong encoding. Most of the time, mixed-encoding is a bad thing,
but Solid's defaults can easily lead to a template that's accidentally
set up for mixed encodings.

I think what we need is a column indicating encoding, in the top-left
pane. It would either say "unicode" or "legacy" (or some abbreviation
thereof) so that a quick look at the whole column would let you see all
of your encoding settings at a glance. This column could be relegated to
the far right to keep it out of the way.

This would be helpful.

Actually, I just realized that this column might not be necessary IF issue #275 is resolved in the way I requested:
"a global setting for the encoding of all fields" http://projects.palaso.org/issues/show/275
